When I saw this video, I was blown away...
There's a chef who runs a super popular hole in the wall type restaurant in Tokyo,
and in my opinion it's usually these hole in the wall, family run restaurants that serves the BEST food.
The food he cooks looks so yummy, and the portions are insanely big, while the prices are fair. No wonder, there's always a line up.
But the thing that impressed me the most was the chef's super hard work ethic.
You can literally see how hard he works from the morning to night, and apparently he's been running this restaurant for 40 years!!!
You got to check the video I found here (turn on the captions, as it's all in Japanese):
What was your impressions of this restaurant?
Are there some cool local 'mom and pop' establishments from where you're from?
Feel free to share your experiences! Would love to hear back from you.
For me, I love these types of establishments, not only because it serves tasty home style food, but more importantly it's a local business that really brings a unique dynamic to the community.
Have a great weekend ahead!
Alec
PS: My thoughts and prayers go out to the people in Japan for a speedy recovery. If you didn't hear in the news already, there was a massive earthquake that happened just a few days ago. Luckily there were no tsunami.
I have some friends that live there, and thankfully they are safe, but they told me that it was a strong one.
