Have you wondered why Kyoto has a very distinct look compared to other major cities in Japan?
Well apparently, there are some very strict rules in place from city by-laws that determine what can be shown on the buildings such as bright colours!
And it gets even more detailed than that! It was actually quite interesting to see how the city, no matter how tedious this process is, goes above and beyond to ensure these rules are enforced so that the city continues to maintain it's unique historical charm!
