This was a pretty cool documentary I found.
Kyoto is known for his very historical and charming streets, and one of the reasons is because of all the very old and beautiful traditional wooden town houses that line up the streets.
However, slowly but surely they are going extinct, which is a very sad thing to see.

I think many places in the world have this peculiar double edge sword they are constantly walking on, where you need to balance between modern day progress and protecting culturally important historical relics.
